About Us

History

I've been fascinated with hand-craftmanship since building my first guitar in 1979. I'm self-taught, although I've benefitted from the guidance and advice of many fine luthiers. I work alone in a small shop which allows me the freedom to express my creativity and craftmanship. I enjoy all aspects of the art of lutherie, from design to materials selection, crafting the guitar, and seeing it come alive in the hands of the player.

I offer a wide variety of styles, both comtemporary and vintage, and my guitars offer great versatlity to satisy the most discriminating player.

Future

I'm continually exploring my craft and am always looking for new and exciting ways to improve my guitars. I've expanded my offerings to include a complete line of vintage body styles and trims. The first of these will be on display at the Healdsburg Guitar Festival in August of 2007. I'm a big fan of these great old instruments and look forward to exploring the possibilities that they provide.

As always I'm on the lookout for new tonewoods and with the concerns of the environmental impact of the overharvesting of some of the exotic tonewoods, some of the many fine domestic renewable woods are getting a lot of attention from both builders and players. Many of these woods make great guitars, most notably some of the maples and walnuts. I'm currently offerng both of these woods and they make wonderful guitars.
